Terms of Hire
Last updated: 2026-05-18.
1. The Contract
By making a booking with Riverside Community Hall (Demo) ("the Centre"), you ("the Hirer") agree to these Terms of Hire. The booking confirmation email you receive is your written contract.
2. Payment
Bookings are confirmed only on successful payment via the online card-payment provider. Prices shown include a non-refundable booking fee, clearly displayed at checkout, which covers our payment-processing costs.
3. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel a booking using the link in your confirmation email up to 24 hours before the start time, in which case we will refund the full hire fee. The booking fee is non-refundable. Cancellations inside 24 hours are not refunded.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 14 days of cancellation.
4. Use of the premises
The Hirer must use the room only for the stated purpose and only for the time period booked. The Hirer is responsible for the conduct and safety of all attendees and for any damage caused during their hire.
5. Public Liability insurance
Commercial hirers must hold their own Public Liability insurance with cover of at least €6.5 million and supply proof to the Centre on request. Casual/private hirers are covered under the Centre's policy subject to standard terms.
6. Children and vulnerable adults
Where the Hirer's activity involves persons under 18 or vulnerable adults, the Hirer warrants that they hold a current Child Safeguarding Statement under the Children First Act 2015 and that all personnel are appropriately Garda-vetted under the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Acts 2012–2016.
7. Equality
The Centre operates a documented, neutral booking-refusal policy that complies with the Equal Status Acts 2000–2018.
8. Liability
The Hirer indemnifies the Centre against any loss, damage, claim or expense arising from their occupancy of the room, other than for matters arising from the Centre's own negligence (which we do not exclude).
9. Complaints
Complaints should be addressed to the contact email in the footer of this site. If your complaint is not resolved, you may refer it to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
